What is the role of

a village doula?

A village doula provides emotional, physical, and educational support to the family during pregnancy, labor/delivery, and postpartum. Your doula will listen to your needs, concerns, and your desires to help you formulate your ideal birthing experience. Village doulas intentionally maximize the prenatal period for in-person preparation for both parents and other support people. We believe that knowledge is power. Your doula will provide you with the most current evidence based informational resources to enhance your ability to make informed decisions. Our goal is empower both birthing and non-birthing parent to trust their intuition, advocate for their needs, and surround themselves with a care team that gives them a sense of autonomy, assurance and security.
